Past Life Incantations is partially inspired by "Past Life Melodies," by Sarah Hopkins, a favorite of Charlie's since his time at the American Boychoir school. This piece experiments with "ghost words" and indistinguishable syllables, meant to imbue mystery and attract the listeners' ears to the eerie harmonies produced by the choir, rather than to words.
